the world in which the program is already available.

Amazon Project Zero is a program that combines Amazon’s advanced capacity

in technology, automatic learning and innovation, along with the sophisticated knowledge that

have the own brands on their intellectual property in order to detect the

possible forgeries you can see in your products.

This program was launched in 2019, with the intention that both Amazon and the brands

can fight forgery so that you can guarantee to the customers of the sellers that you will always receive 100% authentic products, each time you buy in Amazon. For the moment, more than 10,000 brands have been signed up around the world, including BMW, Arduino, Veet and Salvatore Ferragamo or startups such as ChessCentral, LifeProof and OtterBox among many others.

It’s all this, that Amazon Project Zero offers to brands three types of tools:

  • Automated protections (automated protection): This tool uses automatic learning technology to track and monitor more than 5M of global product update attempts, to check for any suspicious products.

  • Product serialization (serialization and traceability of products (optional)): this tool enables the brands in the manufacturing or packaging process to put a single code within the products, which allows individual scanning of the

product and confirm the authenticity of each of the purchases that have been registered in each brand of the Amazon stores.

The product serialization service is available only in the United States, Italy, France, Germany, Spain, the United Kingdom, India, Japan and Australia.

  • Self-service counter feit removal (self-management tools to remove**(a) counterfeit products:** This tool provides brands with the ability to remove fraudulent products from Amazon’s stores at any time. The changes that will be produced by this are detected by the system of

Amazon’s automated protection, to improve the learning system to detect possible forgeries in the future.

When a brand is registered in Amazon Project Zero in a country, it is automatically registered in all countries where it is available.

What requirements should you have to enroll in Project Zero?

Amazon in its fight against counterfeiting has recently launched a unit against the crimes of counterfeiting (Counterfeit Crimes Unit), a global team that would investigate and take legal action against potential forgers, thus protecting their

customers, brands and business partners.

Is registration in Amazon Project Zero free?

Enroll in Project Zero, access to automated protections and use self-service tools for the elimination of falsifications is totally free, but if brands want to use the product serialization service they must pay a cost per unit, depending on the volume.
